Custom stock work

Why do DS not offer an adjustable cheek piece throughout their range? DS market themselves as 'top shelf' after all. I am curious because I regularly see the Regal used in target comps against higher spec 'target' rifles with those adjustable butts and cheek pieces fitted as standard. They seem to hold their own quite well too without them!
Are they really worth having fitted as an aftermarket job because they improve your hold and sighting or are they really a gimmick for the show offs?
Hope that does not upset anyone.......
