What rifle bags do you use?

Postby salop sniper » 18 Dec 2014, 00:19

As above folks, I have a decent Allan bag that's been great and does a great job of looking after my rifles.
But I would like a second decent rifle bag so I can take two rifles out !

What have you got and what do you recommend ?

Cheers guys

I have quite a collection of gun bags and shotgun slips from carbine length to long enough for a 50" barrel, I expect it depends on the requirement on the day. A case I'll mention to you is a double SAKO scoped rifle case. Its a good size, gives adequate protection for most purposes and will easily contain a couple of 24" barrel scoped CF rifles;
Its grey with SAKO branding. There's a green Beretta version also at Uttings, they're not too expensive:

A double case is sometimes more convenient to handle than two separate cases, you can't have too many gun bags can you. :)

Some sensibly priced options here > viewtopic.php?f=11&t=619

Beretta one above looks nice too, just check the length. A quick search seemed to show the shortest version is either 45 or 49"? A pet hate of mine is having an overly long case.

Yes me too, even to the extent of removing a silencer, plus I prefer a hard case

BSA tactical gets a vote from me. Nearly a year of use and abuse and it is still in good order.

Aim Field Sports drag bag.
Being a sniper I already use these although the military version of these are more durable and water proof.

However, the Aim Field Sports is an exact replica of the military spec we use.
The padding is superb, zips solid and durable and loads of pockets and plenty of carrying options. You can now get them in the MTP pattern if your that way inclined. Very pricey but you get what you pay for. I've had 2 of them for well over four years now with no issues what so ever.

Yes mate they usually are.
They sell those very expensive Sightron Scopes and other shooting supplies.
They were there last year because that's where I first saw the bags in MTP.
I just spayed mine which makes it look lots better and it really dous blend in when I take it with me stalking.
I bump into a lot of dog walkers on my permission, I just fold it half with a bungee and wear it like a day sack complete with my flask and sarnies not to mention tolls and 1st aid kit etc....
Highly recommended buddy.
